Working With Wordpress

Happy Wordpress

Wordpress is a content management system that makes updating your website as easy as sending an email. It is an open source project that has been evolving since 2003 and has quickly become one of the most popular blogging platforms on the web. Today, wordpress is just as often used as a content management system (CMS) as it is a blogging platform.

Updates at an Arms Length

Sick of paying a web design company to update your site? Don’t you think it would make more sense to just do it yourself and not have to pay expensive site maintenance plans? Well worry no more – wordpress is here to save the day. Once your website has been customized to work with wordpress you will have the power to add, remove, or edit pages. It’s honestly as easy as clicking “add new page“.

Multiple Editors

With Wordpress, you can setup as many editors as you like – meaning you could give your employees access to your website so they could update it for you. Don’t want them to have full access to your site? Easy. Wordpress has robust support for user rights so that any changes have to be approved by you before going live.

Tell Your Story

While Wordpress works great as a content management system, it was really built to run a blog (weblog). This means that your company can easily setup a blog that can seamlessly merge with your site. Blogs are a great way to make your business more personal, giving frequent updates on your current projects or day-to-day business.

Room For Growth

If there is one reason why people have been flocking to use Wordpress – it’s because of the capacity to expand. Wordpress uses a plugin system that allows you to easily add new features to your site without having to do any custom programming. There are literally thousands and thousands of quality plugins, most of which are available for free. They can be as simple as adding a calendar to your sidebar or as extensive as turning your wordpress installation into a fully functional e-commerce store.

Even if you’re not interested in the plugins, the room for future growth with wordpress is staggering. Wordpress has a huge following of people who are always looking for ways to make it better. Even more convenient is the capacity to change the look of your entire site with the click of a button. This makes it easier for future designers to give your site a face lift without needing to touch the content you worked so hard on. We really do enjoy using wordpress. So much so that we built this very site with it.
